Features: Criticizing a person wrongly cost an additional 300 million. It is easy to speak for others, but it is difficult to speak for what others want to say, and even harder to speak for what others dare not say. Since the Republic of China, the Supervisory Yuan has been considered a mouthpiece for the people, yet their voices have not been heard. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that the mouths of the critics have been silenced. They are too busy eating to have time to speak. Mr. Ma was not a critic, but his mouth was truly admirable. Whether he was eating or not, he always had to speak! The Chongqing Xinhua Daily sent a birthday couplet for Mr. Ma Yin-chu's sixtieth birthday: "Unyielding and undaunted, he shows his spirit; daring to speak and angry, he reveals his soul." In his old age, Mr. Ma wrote an article in the newspaper, saying: "Although I am nearly eighty years old and know that I am outnumbered, I will come out alone to fight until I die, and I will never surrender to those critics who use force rather than reason. Because I have a certain confidence in my theories, I must insist and uphold the dignity of scholarship." After Mr. Ma passed away, a eulogy at his grave read: "Mr. Ma, in the old society, was not afraid of oppression and dared to speak out with a patriotic heart, deeply respected by the people. As a teacher, he conducted rigorous scholarship for the new China, adhered to truth, and remained unyielding, serving as a role model for the younger generation."
