Features: This textbook is organized and compiled by the National Association for Vocational and Technical Education in Medicine and Pharmacy as part of the national series of vocational and technical textbooks for pharmacy. Vocational and technical education aims to cultivate applied talents with technical expertise. The fundamental task of this textbook is to construct a chemical foundation system suitable for pharmacy programs in vocational and technical colleges. Based on years of experience in reforming and practicing the teaching content system of chemistry courses in vocational and technical schools, this textbook was developed to meet the urgent need for teaching materials in the national vocational and technical education in medicine and pharmacy. The content of this textbook is designed to be progressive and easy to understand, with theoretical knowledge sufficient for practical needs. The selection of materials is closely tied to pharmaceutical practice, emphasizing practicality while also including appropriate theoretical content to meet the requirements of pharmacy vocational and technical education. This textbook is one of the series of national vocational and technical textbooks for medicine and pharmacy. It consists of two parts: Theory and Experiments. The Theory part introduces the nomenclature, structure, physicochemical properties, and applications of various organic compounds (alkanes, cycloalkanes, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, and nitrogen-containing organic compounds). It focuses on the structure-activity relationships of organic compounds and functional groups, while also covering enantiomers, heterocyclic compounds, an introduction to organic synthesis, and knowledge closely related to the pharmaceutical profession. The content of the textbook is progressive and systematic, reflecting the principles of applicability, practicality, and relevance. Each chapter includes a certain number of exercises for students to practice. The Experiments part is divided into four sections: Basic Knowledge of Experiments, Basic Operations of Experiments, Properties of Organic Compounds, and Synthesis, with a total of nineteen experiments. This textbook is intended for use by students and teachers in pharmacy programs of vocational and technical colleges, adult education, and open education. It can also be used as a reference for students and teachers in related fields such as medicine, biology, food science, and chemical engineering. The textbook consists of two parts: Theory and Experiments. The Theory part introduces the nomenclature, structure, physicochemical properties, and applications of various organic compounds.
