The award ceremony took place on September 17, 1985, at the Beijing International Club, attended by numerous distinguished guests from both China and abroad, and was covered by central-level news media. In winter 1988, the association again presented a gold medal to the late author at the Beijing Friendship Hotel. In 1986, the book was awarded the "World's Most Beautiful Book Award" at the World Best Books Fair in Leipzig. In January 2006, "A Brief History of Ancient Chinese Woodblock Prints" was published and released for the first time as a standalone volume by Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House.
