Features: "A Heavy Homeland" is a documentary work that records the turbulent times of modern Chinese society. It covers years of war and political "movements," spanning over half a century. In terms of content selection, language techniques, and structural layout, it possesses literary qualities while remaining authentic. Although the book is filled with sorrow and hardship, the author strives to maintain a balance: to write about grief without succumbing to despair, to write about sadness without losing hope, to write about difficulties without giving up on self-reliance, and to write about suffering without abandoning survival.
Author Li Detang says: Writing is the art of creating truthful works that reflect real life, thereby moving people, inspiring them, and encouraging them to support justice and resist evil.
