Features: "Chinese Characters Taught by Teacher Zhang" is a textbook for optional Chinese character courses designed for international students with zero Chinese foundation, especially beginners from non-Chinese cultural circles. Based on the actual learning situation of international students studying Chinese characters, the textbook is divided into two parts: "Chinese Character Recognition and Writing Textbook" and "Chinese Character Pronunciation Textbook," allowing for appropriate separation of writing and recognition instruction.
(1) The "Chinese Character Recognition and Writing Textbook" uses the "pictographic method" as a starting point for form-meaning association, with the classification of semantic radicals in compound characters as the main thread. It focuses on the writing, etymology, and structural analysis of Chinese characters, aiming to help learners build a clear cognitive structure adapted to Chinese characters.
(2) The "Chinese Character Pronunciation Textbook" employs the "shape-matching method" to establish relational associations and analogies between Chinese characters, with the classification of phonetic radicals in compound characters as the main thread. It highlights Chinese character learning strategies in the form of "memory tips," intending to provide students with a systematic approach to transform the rules of character formation into the rules of character recognition.
(3) To more effectively master Chinese characters, the textbook also pays attention to the relationship between character meaning and word meaning. It provides words composed of the learned characters and example sentences for each word that should be mastered, hoping to deepen the understanding of these characters and words in context.
(4) While teaching Chinese characters, the textbook also introduces learning strategies for Chinese character study, embodying the recycling memory method for Chinese characters: encountering unfamiliar characters reminds you of familiar ones, finding similarities; using familiar characters to learn new ones, extending and generalizing, mastering as many characters as possible through continuous repetition and derivation.
"Chinese Characters Taught by Teacher Zhang" is based on the "Chinese Character Proficiency Vocabulary and Level Syllabus" of the National Office for Chinese Language Education, and it includes a total of 1,885 characters, covering all Level A and B characters, as well as over 260 Level C and D characters, plus 20 extra-curricular characters such as "," "," and "" to meet students' needs.
The "Chinese Character Recognition and Writing Textbook" includes 780 characters, with approximately 630 Level A characters, over 120 Level B characters, and a small number of Level C and D characters used as radicals. The textbook consists of 25 lessons, and each lesson requires two class hours.
The "Chinese Character Recognition and Writing Textbook" is accompanied by a workbook, while the "Chinese Character Pronunciation Textbook" is accompanied by a CD.
