Others are ordered by seniority as follows: senior generals, medium-ranking generals, and junior generals, with names within the same rank sorted by stroke order. Generals promoted between 1955 and 1964, including those promoted to higher ranks in 1988 or later, are introduced in the text but not reflected in the order of the list. The volume includes 10 marshals, 10 senior generals, 57 medium-ranking generals, and 177 junior generals. The 1,360 junior generals are divided between the second and third volumes.
