Features: The 1980s provided Chinese economists with a chance to shine. As a young economist just starting out, I had the privilege of directly participating in the research on reform policies at the time. This book collects my main papers published between 1984 and 1987, which had a certain impact in the economics community at the time, and some of which played a direct role in shaping reform policies. I have organized them into seven sections based on content: Price Theory and Price Reform, Entrepreneurs and Ownership, Market Economy and Political Behavior, Labor Market and Income Distribution, Macro Balance and Macro Control, Foreign Exchange Market and Foreign Trade Policy, and Economics and Economists. For each section, I have written an "Introduction and Explanation" to provide readers with an understanding of the background of the papers and to help them evaluate the value of my theoretical perspectives and policy recommendations for China's economic reform.
