Since the mid-1980s, in line with the rapid development of China's reform and opening-up and socialist modernization, public document writing has emerged as an important branch of social sciences. Through the dedicated efforts of colleagues in the field of public document studies over the past decade, this discipline has grown from nothing to something, gradually moving toward standardized and scientific development. Numerous specialized works, teaching materials, and reference books have been published, tens of thousands of academic papers on public document writing have been published, and national and regional academic associations related to public document writing have been established one after another. All of this has contributed to the relatively flourishing development of China's current academic field of public document studies.
