Features: "Pharmacopeia in Four-Character Rhyme of Four Hundred Herbs" was written by the Ming Dynasty physician Gong Tingxian and has been widely circulated and highly influential in the medical field. It is a popular introductory reading material on traditional Chinese medicine. The book introduces the efficacy and applications of four hundred commonly used Chinese herbs in a four-character rhyming style. The content is concise, the rhyme is harmonious, and it is easy to memorize, making it an excellent guide for beginners. However, due to its age, some of the text is quite profound, and errors are inevitable. More importantly, for a long time, physicians have often failed to clearly distinguish the herbs they use, and there have been risks of misuse. In light of this, the editors have added annotations to certain texts without compromising the original work, and each herb is accompanied by photos of genuine medicinal materials and their prepared pieces. The aim is to help readers not only memorize the efficacy of the herbs but also recognize them.
1. Woods, empty blue, oyster shell, black lead, pickle water, crabs, mercury, and sugar are rarely used in medicine and are not included in this book.
2. After removing duplicates, the original text includes nine types of Chinese herbs.
3. The names and order of the herbs in the original rhyme are maintained, and an index is provided at the end.
4. For each herb, two to three photos of genuine medicinal materials and prepared pieces are selected.
5. Annotations and proofreading are added to parts of the text that are difficult to understand or easily confused.
