Features: Xie Shaowei, born in 1961, is from Guangzhou. He graduated in 1989 from the Department of Flower and Bird Painting, Chinese Painting Program at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the China Artists Association and currently serves as a professor and master's supervisor at the School of Fine Arts, South China Normal University. In 2000, he won the gold medal awarded by the Guangdong Artists Association (his work "Silent Nourishment" was collected by the Guangdong Art Museum, featured in "History of New China's Fine Arts 1949-2000" published by Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House). In 1999, he won the silver medal awarded by the China Artists Association (his work "Inebriated" was collected by the China Artists Association). In 1997, the "World Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" was organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Bureau of Art, and the Chinese Academy of Art (his work "Clear After Rain" was collected by Beijing Shangshu Company). In 1988, he won the third prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture.
