Features: The collapse of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe was a massive political earthquake in world history. It not only brought down the regimes of these countries but also shook people's hearts. A series of sharp political issues emerged, and one after another practical problems demanded answers. In the 10 years following the upheaval, what were the political storms in the political arenas of these countries? This was a matter of close attention. The book focuses on Russia, the successor state of the Soviet Union. Since Putin came to power in March 2000, the country's political situation has become increasingly stable, and the economy has begun to recover. Although it has not yet fully emerged from its difficulties, it remains the birthplace of the October Socialist Revolution and will continue to be a major power in Europe, both now and in the future, with economic and military potential. As for Eastern Europe, this was a political concept during the Cold War, referring to the eight countries that formed the "Eastern Bloc" alongside the Soviet Union after World War II. After the upheaval in 1989, East Germany merged with West Germany, while the remaining seven countries saw Czechoslovakia split into two and Yugoslavia split into five. Therefore, the Eastern European countries discussed in this book refer to the 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans after the Cold War, namely Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, the Yugoslav Federation, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. This book examines the changes in the party political organizations of these 13 countries, generally covering the period from the late 1980s to the end of the 20th century, i.e., the political storms in the political arenas of these countries in the nearly 10 years after the upheaval.
