In the 1980s, as China's reform and opening-up began to flourish, and as law and legal education began to rise again, the China Legal Publishing House served China's legal education with sincerity and great effort. Targeting readers at different stages, the publisher has successively introduced a variety of legal textbook series, with hundreds of titles to date. University textbooks and teaching reference books are the main part, while the "Eighth Five-Year Plan," "Ninth Five-Year Plan," and currently the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" national-level planned textbooks are the key focus. For a long time, many textbooks under the "Legal Edition" have attracted significant attention from scholars. Here, we sincerely thank our readers and authors for their trust.
Since the 21st century, Chinese legal education has made great progress while actively formulating and implementing reform measures, with cultivating high-quality modern legal talents becoming a major goal of legal education. To this end, the publisher has responded to the times, striving for greater breakthroughs in the variety, content, and format of textbooks to provide better reading materials for the new generation of legal professionals.
Regarding university textbooks, we adopt two approaches: comprehensively reviving existing textbooks or introducing entirely new ones. Reviving existing textbooks involves selecting high-quality published textbooks, especially those from the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" and "Ninth Five-Year Plan," and comprehensively updating, revising, and reorganizing them to continue serving new readers with these enduring treasures of legal education in a fresh form. Introducing entirely new textbooks may involve launching the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" planned textbooks or inviting outstanding authors to write new works that meticulously explain principles, combine practice, focus on the forefront, and strive to create new classics for the new century. Outstanding authors may be seasoned veterans or emerging talents. Whether revived or entirely new, these textbooks present a fresh image in the 21st century and share the prestige of planned textbooks under one banner: "21st Century Legal Education Planned Textbooks."
To meet teaching needs, we have also successively introduced this brand-new series of "21st Century Legal Teaching Reference Books." We firmly believe that China's legal education will continue to grow through reform and development; we commit that this "21st Century Legal Education Planned Textbooks" and "21st Century Legal Teaching Reference Books," as well as all other legal education books published by us, will constantly be updated and surpassed in the process of development.
Guided by the principle of serving the development of law and legal education with dedication and serving readers with sincerity, we are willing to work even harder alongside our readers and authors to jointly create a bright future for the rule of law and legal education.
