During the War of Liberation, General Yang Chengwu led his troops to campaign in North China, directing or participating in the command of battles such as Datong, Jining, Zhengtai, Qingcheng, Baobei, Beiqing River North, Qingfengdian, Shijiazhuang, Chasi, Zhangjiakou, and Taiyuan.
