Features: This is a creative thinking notebook and memoir filled with emotional colors and thought-provoking insights. Author Aizibita elaborately narrates her journey in creating children's literature, as well as the driving force behind her creativity and the inexhaustible source of inspiration—various memories from her childhood. The hardships of wartime, separations, and especially her childhood with her godmother in Alsace, France—listening to stories, singing, watching the sunset, and sensing the unique aura of everyday objects, toys, and images, and so on. Every experience and feeling accumulated and enriched her growth, eventually giving rise to the enchanting fairy-tale world in her later works. "The childhood of art" exists in every country and corner of the world. In the fleeting years of a child's growth, let them experience the emotions of every moment in life, listen to the exchange between their inner feelings and external things, and cherish the memories of their growth—thus, they can also be given another form of artistic childhood. Back then, I had no books to accompany me, but I never felt the slightest regret, because I had a fairy godmother a thousand times better than books. On her lap, by the small window, we spent every evening together. She never grew tired of telling me the stories over and over again, until the night fell, the witch was burned, and we lit the lamps. In that impoverished era, living in a rich world of imagination, I never felt the bitterness of hardship. On the contrary, in my memories, especially those fairy tales, they were like inexhaustible treasures, making me want to share these precious experiences with others. A nomadic life, the emergence and loss of language, the images of original sin and holiness, the forgotten lands, stories and pictures, the round eyes of a fox, pointed hats, an egg, a lost teddy bear, a burned book, a plywood artist's palette, the twilight—all these fragments of childhood must be the driving force behind my life. Of course, none of this can explain why or how I created children's picture books. War, my godmother, and the elderberry bushes on Nofer Street are all connected to me writing stories for children and creating picture books. However, I cannot clearly explain why or how it happened.
