Features: Hepatitis B is one of the important infectious diseases in China. Statistics show that the mortality rate caused by hepatitis B virus infection has risen from the 9th place in the world in 2003 to the 7th place in 2004. Hepatitis B patients account for the absolute majority of inpatients in infectious disease hospitals across the country. Moreover, society still has four times as many hepatitis B virus carriers as current patients, with a total of about 120 million people, which is equivalent to the combined population of Germany and Italy. The author has been engaged in hepatitis B virus carrier work for over 8 years and has accumulated extensive clinical experience. The purpose of writing this book is to provide popular science knowledge for hepatitis B virus carriers in terms of diagnosis, treatment, health care, and social behavior. Additionally, the author has proposed a new academic viewpoint: "Do not exclude HBV-DNA positive carriers from antiviral treatment." It is believed that using a "one-size-fits-all" approach of "regular follow-up" to deal with the vast and complex group will cause nearly 20% of hepatitis B virus carriers to lose the opportunity for effective treatment, which will also be more detrimental to reducing the adverse consequences caused by misguided medical treatment.
