Features: Mao Zedong reflected on his adversities and sought a path for the Chinese revolution. Soon after, he returned to prominence due to his outstanding political and military talents and his deep sense of responsibility for the Chinese revolution. Ultimately, he led the Party and the Red Army out of the caused by dogmatism and onto a path of hope for the Chinese revolution. At the preparatory meeting of the Eighth National Congress of the CCP, Mao recalled that period of adversity: "I can take myself as an example. What benefited me was being labeled as 'narrow empiricism.'" Regarding the injustices, grievances, inappropriate punishments, and erroneous treatments (such as being labeled 'opportunism,' dismissed from office, or transferred), there are two attitudes one can adopt. One is to become, angry, and dissatisfied; the other is to view them as a beneficial education and a form of discipline." Despite the cruel struggles and ruthless attacks by the "Leftist" leaders, Mao never lost his ambition. He treated the injustices and grievances with a attitude, setting an example for communists. Mao Zedong's Life in Adversity is a small book that attempts to reflect on Mao's revolutionary career and personal spirit through historical cross-sections, following the publication of the second edition of Mao Zedong's Life of Self-Improvement. Like the previous book, this one remains unfinished as the author was temporarily assigned to participate in the campaign to maintain the advanced nature of communists, during which he read and studied a large amount of related documents, articles, and manuscripts. The author believes that Mao Zedong in adversity is a model of the advanced nature of communists. Whether in revolutionary undertakings or life paths, it is rare to have a smooth journey—instead, it is often filled with hardships. It is hoped that this book will see the light of day and benefit others, as well as the author. This book, following Mao Zedong's Life of Self-Improvement, is another small book that attempts to reflect on Mao's revolutionary career and personal spirit through historical cross-sections. It describes the difficulties Mao Zedong faced during the Long March period, using clear historical records to portray the strength of the great man in adversity, offering strong educational value for young people.
