Features: The book "Selected Laws and Voluntary Guidelines on International and Foreign Genetic Resources Law" contains over 300,000 words, selecting and compiling nearly 50 international, regional, and national legislative documents as well as voluntary guidelines in the fields of genetic resources and the protection of biological diversity and traditional knowledge. Among them, only a few international legal documents such as the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity, the 2000 International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, and the 1994 Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights were directly selected by the author from their existing official Chinese translations. The majority of the legislative documents, including the world's earliest national genetic resources legislation—the Philippine 1995 Administrative Order No. 247 and the 1996 Department Order No. 96-20—and the earliest regional legislation—the Andean Community 1996 Resolution No. 391 on a Common System for Access to Genetic Resources—as well as the most renowned comprehensive legislation—the 2002 Indian Biological Diversity Act—are translated and introduced to the Chinese public for the first time by the author.
