Features: Founded in 1904, Huanggang High School in Hubei Province was designated as a key high school in Hubei in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students with both comprehensive knowledge and specialized skills. It has pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding academic performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test preparation is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test setters and deeply grasp the underlying principles, making it a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of solving them.
If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books by frontline core teachers: "Huanggang High School Homework Series," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Second and Third Round Training Materials."
The "Huanggang High School Homework Series" is based on the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Exam Syllabus," highlighting the role of "homework" in the process of students developing learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. It reflects the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' brilliant performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice. This series features a carefully designed format with four major sections: "Pre-Class Warm-up," "In-Class Homework," "After-Class Homework," and "Exam Online," providing intensive training to improve students' abilities.
This series also has the following features:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The exercises are carefully arranged to reinforce and progressively enhance the key points, types of questions, and methods associated with each topic. The series is positioned to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive, ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive exercises.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and advanced questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most middle schools. Most questions are labeled with difficulty levels (A, B, or C) in advance, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are well-balanced, with detailed solutions provided for difficult questions. It is worth mentioning that the insightful hints included are often the key to unlocking the solution.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' exercises, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
