This revised edition has been enriched and adjusted as follows:
1. In 1999, to celebrate the 20th World Congress of Architects held in China, this book was compiled as a gift for the event. The stages of editing, plate-making, and printing were rushed, and the authors and contributors were unable to proofread the "final proofs" in time, resulting in several unintended errors in the printed books. These have now been corrected and adjusted.
2. This edition includes newly collected and discovered samples and restoration works, addressing the original collection's lack of major categories of official-style architectural paintings. Examples include gold-leaf meander patterns, auspicious pearl and grass patterns, and more than 50 other items. Necessary adjustments have been made to the sections, painting categories, and sequence of prints.
3. Through research, we have standardized the inconsistent naming, terminology, and usage of Chinese architectural painting. Additionally, we have verified the references cited in this collection and corrected them where appropriate.
