Author: [Iran] Dastehakh, compiled by Yuan Wenqi
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-11-01
Features: The Avesta is the oldest literature of Iran. Although the exact date of its composition is uncertain, it can at least be traced back to before the 10th century BC. It is not the purpose of this book, nor is it possible, to comprehensively explore the Avesta, deeply analyze the specific content and interconnections of its various volumes, and reveal its essential characteristics from historical, literary, and linguistic perspectives. Our aim is to select and compile the essence of the Avesta in an accessible language, offering it to Persian readers as a window into the thoughts and worldview of ancient Iranians. In summary, the ancient Persian scripture, the Avesta, fully reflects the noble virtues of our respected ancestors—courage, determination, purity, sincerity, tolerance, and optimism—as well as their wise perspectives on all things in the world. It also demonstrates their relentless struggle for the prosperity of the world and the happiness of human life.
