Childhood obesity, how should it be treated?

Patient's question:

Girl baby, currently 1 year old. Recently, I've noticed that the child seems to be getting fatter and, additionally, can eat several bowls of food in one meal. She likes to lie down after finishing her meal. My question is: How should pediatric obesity be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Changing a child's obesity starts with getting them to love exercise and not be picky about food. Parents can encourage their children to engage in sports that are beneficial for weight loss, such as jogging or swimming. During this period, children should be encouraged to eat more foods like cucumbers, tomatoes, and kiwis. Children should not consume high-calorie foods like cakes or macadamia nuts. Additionally, they should not be allowed to sleep right after eating or lounging on the sofa while snacking. Throughout the treatment, parents should closely monitor their child's condition. In severe cases, treatment should be conducted under the guidance of a doctor and should not be done blindly.
