Features: Throughout the history of Chinese calligraphy, few calligraphers have written the "Three-Character Classic." This is indeed a regrettable omission. Now, the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House has invited calligraphers to write the "Three-Character Classic" in different scripts, which can be said to be a highly meaningful initiative. People can not only appreciate and learn these outstanding calligraphy works but also review the content through copying, achieving two goals at once and filling the in the treasures of calligraphy art. This copy of the "Three-Character Classic" in cursive script was written by the renowned contemporary calligrapher, Mr. Wang Weiping. Wang Weiping is one of the most powerful calligraphers on the Shanghai calligraphy scene. He served as the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association and is currently the Vice President of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, renowned both domestically and internationally for his expertise in small regular script and cursive script. From an early age, he studied under the famous Chinese calligrapher and seal carver, Shan Xiaotian. Under Shan's meticulous guidance and with diligent research, he gained recognition on the Shanghai calligraphy scene in his youth. Although he is famous for cursive script, his foundation was firmly rooted in regular script, establishing his style on the bones of Yu and Ou characters, and drawing inspiration from the profound and majestic of Yan's regular script. Building on this foundation, he further traced back to the Qin and Han dynasties, not only absorbing the round and turning brushwork from seal script but also gaining insights into the ancient, rustic, and heavy from the "Zhang Qian Stele" and the "Lijing Stele." As for his small regular script, he is particularly fond of the "Recommendation of Ji Zhi" and the "Declaration of Shishi" by Cao Zongyao. Readers can explore the full spectrum of Wang Weiping's calligraphy in this copy. Unfortunately, they cannot see the overall composition of the works, but due to their small size, they are convenient to carry and practice. Moreover, his well-structured cursive script and precise brushwork are sufficient to set an example and benefit beginners in cursive script.
