Alpine lilies

Author: Sanmao
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-07-01
Features: "Lilies of the Plateau" is a part of "A Journey Through Ten Thousand Mountains and Rivers" that was never compiled. Now, on the second anniversary of Sanmao's passing, its publication brings us great comfort and longing as parents. We hope all readers who love and miss Sanmao share the same feelings. When I reread the articles in this book, Sanmao's voice, appearance, and laughter come to life before my eyes, as if reliving scenes from the past, vivid and clear. These articles were written under the "Sanmao's South America and Central America Journey" support program of the United Daily News. Some are travelogues, while others can be considered reportage literature. Each piece was crafted during perilous and challenging journeys, truly the fruit of her blood and sweat. When these articles were published in the United Daily News supplement, I was a reader.
