The Senior English for China series is co-published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) and the world's largest multinational educational publishing group, Pearson Education. It is edited by Chris Jacques, the principal editor of the current secondary school English textbook Senior English for China, and Wang Wei, an English teacher at Beijing Foreign Studies University, as the series editors. Additionally, Neville Grant, the principal editor of the current secondary school English textbook Junior English for China, serves as an advisory editor. Furthermore, dozens of experienced secondary school teachers have participated in the review process.
This series is synchronized with secondary school English teaching, divided into six levels from Grade 7 to Grade 12, with four types of books per level: Listening and Speaking, Grammar in Context, Reading Skills, and Reading to Writing. Each book targets one of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and grammar, providing students with practice activities.
We decided to publish this series in light of the current disorganized and low-quality publication of supplementary teaching materials for secondary school English in China, which often fails to meet expectations. Many teachers urgently need high-quality supplementary materials. Therefore, we have made significant investments in terms of manpower, resources, and finances, determined to compile a high-quality supplementary textbook series that meets domestic needs and international standards, to ease the difficulties of teachers and prepare a better series for students to build a solid foundation in English during their secondary school years.
