Does the surgery for uterine polyps and polycystic ovaries harm the uterus?

Patient's question:

Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with uterine polyps abroad. Since I was not married at the time, I did not undergo surgical treatment. However, I occasionally experienced bleeding between periods, mostly brown in color, in small amounts, and sometimes it would last for a few days. Generally, it would stop before the next period, and then I would have a few days of cleanliness before the regular menstrual period.

Doctor's answer:

Do you still have bleeding now? For your condition, you might consider taking oral contraceptives for 3 months first, and then have a follow-up ultrasound after 3 months. If polyps are still present, surgery may be considered.
Regarding polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), have you had your testosterone levels checked? If your testosterone is high, you can choose Diane-35 for oral contraceptives. If it's not high, you can use Marvelon. Of course, before taking medication, you need to rule out any contraindications. I wonder if you have any other issues besides the above.
