What is the problem of ovulatory bleeding?

Patient's question:

Patient Gender:
Female
Detailed Condition and Purpose of Consultation: Over the past six months, I have experienced bleeding around the time of ovulation each month. The amount of blood is very light, with a color ranging from brown to red, generally lasting 3-5 days, but it lasted for 7 days last month. The bleeding stops immediately after ovulation. Although the amount of blood is not significant, I personally feel the duration is a bit long.
Auxiliary Examinations: In October, I had an ultrasound examination, and there were no abnormal findings in the uterus or appendages.
I would like to ask:
1. Is there any problem? If it is a normal phenomenon, can it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: During the mid-cycle, i.e., the ovulation period, a temporary decline in estrogen levels causes the endometrium to lose hormonal support, leading to partial endometrial shedding and regular vaginal bleeding, known as ovulatory bleeding. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is referred to as "intermenstrual bleeding."
Treatment
1. Western medicine treatment: Diethylstilbestrol 0.25–0.5 mg per day, starting 3 days before ovulation and stopping 2–3 days after the bleeding stops.
2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Liuwei Dihuang Wan, Gujing Wan, and Xuefu Zhuyu Wan.
Prevention and Care
1. Pay attention to menstrual and postpartum health care, maintain external genital hygiene, and prevent pelvic infection.
2. Keep a positive mood and avoid excessive stress.
