Features: The Collected Works of Mao Zedong includes 803 documents by Mao Zedong, serving as a comprehensive multi-volume collection of Mao's works that reflects the scientific system of Mao Zedong Thought, following the Selected Works of Mao Zedong volumes 1 to 4. It fills the gap left by the absence of a selected works collection for Mao Zedong during the socialist period. The editorial work of the Collected Works spanned eight years and was published in three installments. The Collected Works only selects documents with correct or basically correct content. For manuscripts and previously published speeches or records of conversations, the editorial work primarily involved verifying historical facts and correcting text and punctuation. For unpublished speeches or records of conversations, significant effort was required for technical textual editing. The annotations in the Collected Works mainly involve explanations of people, events, quotations, and documents, as well as introducing Mao Zedong's thoughts and viewpoints related to the main text through annotations, or correcting inaccuracies. We extensively consulted sources, sought advice from experts, and conducted rigorous research to ensure the annotations were as complete as possible. The Collected Works of Mao Zedong (Volume 5) is Volume 5! Mao Zedong was a great Marxist, a proletarian revolutionary, strategist, and theorist. Throughout his life, he wrote a vast number of documents and delivered many speeches and conversations. This is an extremely rich and precious spiritual legacy. The works included in Selected Works of Mao Zedong volumes 1 to 8 are Mao Zedong's main writings before the founding of the People's Republic of China. This book is the fifth volume of his collected works, primarily discussing Mao Zedong's speech on advancing to the Dabie Mountains and how to eliminate feudalism and carry out land reform.
