Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, morality-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students, emphasizing "comprehensive development with special talents." It has pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and fostering innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and it is merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to transform ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intentions of examiners and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teaching staff and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: Huanggang High School Homework Books, Huanggang High School Exam Papers, and the 2006 College Entrance Exam Training Series (First and Second Rounds).
The Huanggang High School Homework Books series is based on teaching and examination syllabi, highlighting the role of "homework" in the process of students forming learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. It reflects the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' exceptional performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice.
This series features a carefully designed structure, including four major sections: "Pre-Class Warm-up," "In-Class Homework," "After-Class Homework," and "Exam Online," which provide intensive training to enhance students' abilities. It also has the following features:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The exercises are arranged to reinforce and progressively improve the key points, types of questions, and methods associated with each topic. The series is positioned to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive, ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive exercises.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most secondary schools. Additionally, the vast majority of questions are labeled with A, B, or C to indicate their difficulty level, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult questions. It is particularly noteworthy that the well-placed hints often play a pivotal role in guiding students.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the exercises created by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
