Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, virtue-based education" and has developed a distinctive approach to nurturing students with "comprehensive strengths." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, and it is merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What is its ability to turn sand into a tower? What is its skill in transforming ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is anything else that Huanggang High School has achieved success in, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, including renowned educators celebrated in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: Huanggang High School Homework Books, Huanggang High School Exam Papers, and the 2006 College Entrance Exam Training Books (First and Second Rounds).
The Huanggang High School Homework Books series is based on the teaching syllabus and exam syllabus, highlighting the role of "homework" in the process of students forming learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. It reflects the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' brilliant performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice.
This series features a carefully designed structure with four major sections: "Pre-Class Warm-up," "In-Class Assignments," "After-Class Assignments," and "Exam Online," providing intensive training to enhance students' abilities. The series also includes the following features:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The exercises are carefully arranged to reinforce and progressively improve the knowledge points, exam topics, question types, and methods. The series is positioned to help students elevate their problem-solving skills through progressive exercises in ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive formats.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and advanced questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most secondary schools. Most questions are labeled with difficulty levels (A, B, or C) for clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult questions. It is worth mentioning that the insightful hints offered at critical moments often play a pivotal role.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the questions written by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading processes to ensure excellence. We strive to make it a standout in the educational supplement market.
