Chinese Communication Studies Review. Issue 1

Author: Zhang Guoliang
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-10-01
Features: So far, the field of communication studies in China lacks a publication that meets the following criteria: it focuses on publishing papers in communication studies; it primarily features innovative theoretical achievements in the field; it does not consider the fame or status of the authors but only the quality and contribution of their work; it serves China by closely addressing local issues while also looking globally and swiftly tracking international theoretical frontiers. In other words, it takes mature and authoritative international core journals as its model and shoulders the following responsibilities: gathering the essence of achievements, promoting academic exchange, nurturing research teams, and deepening the development of the discipline. This book was born in response to the above guiding principles. Undoubtedly, it still has various shortcomings, but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. In the healthy interaction between the field of communication studies and societal needs, it will take steady steps, gradually maturing from infancy to adulthood, growing from a "seedling" into a "tree."
