Features: Most ethnic regions in China are located in the headwaters of major rivers and areas with fragile ecological environments. Promoting economic development and environmental protection in ethnic regions, as well as maintaining a sound ecological balance, holds great significance. In terms of population, resources, environment, and economic development, the population issue is the root cause of many socio-economic problems. This book applies the principles of population economics, resource economics, and development economics to research and analyze the population, resources, environment, and sustainable development in China's ethnic minority regions. The book is divided into eight parts.
Part 1 analyzes the relationship and current status between population and economic sustainable development in ethnic regions, highlighting the urgency of pursuing a sustainable development path in these areas.
Part 2 discusses population size and land population capacity from global, national, and regional perspectives, analyzing and demonstrating the optimal population size for ethnic regions.
Part 3 examines population structure, focusing on population control and the issue of population aging.
Part 4 explores population migration and urbanization, proposing migration strategies for ethnic regions.
Part 5 conducts a systematic analysis of the number, composition, and causes of poverty in ethnic regions, proposing anti-poverty measures.
Part 6 discusses human resources by improving population quality, proposing ideas such as local talent development and the "science and education" (rejuvenating regions through science and education) strategy in ethnic regions.
Part 7 studies the construction of moderately prosperous societies and population modernization in ethnic regions.
