Features: The Jingming Dao is a new school of Taoism founded by Liu Yu, a Taoist priest in the early Yuan Dynasty, who followed the teaching tradition of the Xu Xun religious group since the Jin Dynasty. It played an extremely important role in the development of modern Chinese religious history, especially in promoting the integration of the Three Teachings. The author relies on the Daozang (Taoist Canon) and other historical records, with solid evidence, rigorous reasoning, clear logic, and distinct viewpoints, making it highly academically valuable. This book is based on the doctoral dissertation completed by Mr. Guo Hu at the Department of Religious Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, which particularly highlights his knowledge training in Taoism and religious studies acquired during his time there. Starting from a very specific and relatively understudied issue, it centers on the Jingming Zhongxiao Quanshu (Complete Works of Jingming Loyal Piety), deeply exploring the historical origins and development of this important classic belonging to the Yuan-era Jingming Dao group. The book begins by discussing the relationship between the Jingming Zhongxiao Quanshu and the emergence of Liu Yu's Jingming Dao group in the Yuan Dynasty, then examines the rise and spread of the Jingming Dao school in the Xishan region of Jiangxi, tracing it back to the legends of its founding master Xu Xun from the Sui and Tang dynasties. The content and arguments of each chapter are all based on the highly rigorous textual research centered on the Jingming Zhongxiao Quanshu.
