Features: Research in the field of polymer blending and modification in China started relatively late. Before the 1980s, there was a significant lack of theoretical research and development of blending modification varieties. In fact, it was not even included in the textbooks of relevant majors in higher education institutions. The engineering community was largely unfamiliar with polymer blending. To promote the development of this field domestically, we began work in the late 1970s and completed the compilation of "Principles and Technology of Polymer Blending and Modification" in 1981, hoping to play a role in sparking further interest. Since its publication in 1984, the book has received widespread attention and encouragement from the domestic academic, educational, and engineering communities. It has been honorably selected as an elective textbook or reference book for postgraduate and undergraduate students in relevant majors of higher education institutions, and the plastic engineering community has used it as a basis to organize various levels of specialized study sessions and lectures. Over the past decade, significant progress has been made in both domestic and international research on polymer blending science and engineering, and "blending" has become a "hot topic" in polymer materials science and engineering. If it is not an exaggeration to say that every research unit, high (medium) professional colleges, and production enterprises related to polymer science have engaged in "blending," it would not be far from the truth. Precisely for this reason, to reflect the latest achievements in theoretical research and industrial practice of polymer blending both domestically and internationally, we began last year to revise and expand the book "Principles and Technology of Polymer Blending and Modification," renaming it "Polymer Blending and Modification." Although the book retains the structural framework of the "original," the content has undergone significant changes. The scientific and technical literature on polymer blending and modification, both domestically and internationally, is vast, covering a wide range and being extremely rich in content.
