Features: Color has emotions. Due to differences in one's cultivation, hobbies, and mood, the perception of color also varies. The purpose of learning still-life color is to cultivate the ability to depict the texture, volume, space, and tonal relationships of still-life using color language.
I. Observation Methods: To paint still-life well, one must be adept at observing objects with peripheral vision. Not only should one observe the object itself but also identify the color tendencies around it, thereby making the composition's color rich, lively, and harmonious.
II. Basic Principles of Color:
1. Under natural light, the light parts of objects are cool, while the dark parts are warm. The cast shadows should have appropriate sky color.
2. The hue differences between still-life objects in the same composition should be emphasized. Utilize the complementary relationships between red and green, yellow and blue, and orange and purple to create color tension.
3. Due to the painter's personal preferences for color, the still-life will exhibit different tones, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the composition.
4. The spatial sense of surface still-life color should emphasize the contrast between light and dark in the foreground, middle ground, background, and overall composition. When shaping forms, increase the degree of detail while reducing the degree of abstraction, and enhance the contrast between warm and cool colors.
5. One should be skilled in mixing colors on the canvas, ensuring the colors are accurate, vivid, and rich.
