Features: The period of transformation in the tourism industry is a convergence point of the developmental phase and the evolutionary phase of the tourism industry. It possesses the characteristic patterns of the developmental phase while also exhibiting the changing features of the evolutionary phase, holding a transitional role in the development model. Therefore, conducting scientific research on the characteristics of tourism development during China's tourism industry transformation period, grasping its developmental laws, and guiding the development of China's tourism industry in line with the Scientific Outlook on Development is of significant theoretical and practical importance. The monograph "Research on the Environment, Institutions, and Models of China's Tourism Industry During the Transformation Period" was conducted under this objective. After three years of multiple investigations, research, and scientific analysis and argumentation, the research team proposed four aspects of transformation in China's tourism industry. The development of China's tourism industry should shift from a "point-line tourism" system to a "module-platform tourism" system, achieving a reorganization of operational methods; the development of the tourism industry should transition from individual enterprise organizations to chain enterprise organizations, realizing an adjustment of the market organizational structure of the tourism industry; the development of the tourism industry should move from localized operations to cross-regional and cross-national operations, achieving a transformation of the business model of tourism enterprises; the development of the tourism industry should shift from a focus on sightseeing products to the co-development of sightseeing products, resort products, and themed products, realizing a transformation of the form of tourism products.
