Features: One of the top five best-selling authors in the 20th century, the posthumous work of the late American writer Owen Wallace, "Witness to Evil - Japan's 'My Struggle'" was launched by Jinan Publishing House yesterday. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory of China's Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War, the book is published in Chinese for the first time. In 1940, at the age of 24, Wallace, as a correspondent for the U.S. magazine Free in the Far East, conducted field investigations and visits in places such as Shanghai and Nanjing in occupied Japan and China. He objectively and truthfully recorded the hand materials and observations he obtained, completing the manuscript of this documentary report in 1941. The day after the first draft was completed, the Pearl Harbor Incident occurred. He polished the manuscript in 1942, but due to the U.S. involvement in the war, the manuscript was shelved, and it remained unpublished for over 60 years. "Witness to Evil - Japan's 'My Struggle'" is the book's first public appearance, with the translation work completed by Mr. Wang Jinling, a writer and translator who holds the exclusive translation rights and copyright for Wallace's works. In this book, Wallace devoted nearly half of the content to recording the secret memorial of Prime Minister Tanaka Giichi to the Emperor in 1927, outlining Japan's foreign expansion plan, known as the Tanaka Memorial. Wallace referred to it as Japan's fascistic program, "My Struggle." The Memorial details Japan's plan to conquer all of China and even the world. The Memorial was later leaked and translated into Chinese and English, with the Japanese government mobilizing all its efforts to deny it. To prove Japan's deception, Wallace included the full content of the Memorial in this book and investigated and verified key examples where Japan's claims in the Memorial differed from the facts. The results showed that Japan not only faithfully and completely fulfilled the plans in the Memorial but also went far beyond its scope.
