The book also provides in-depth textual research and analysis of Gu Kaizhi's three painting theories, citing extensive evidence to solve a long-standing enigma in the history of Chinese painting that has eluded experts and scholars from China and abroad for over half a century since the 1930s. The content is thorough, the research is rigorous, and the reasoning is profound. Li Yi, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Art Observation and Secretary-General of the Theory Committee of the China Artists Association, remarked: The Study of Gu Kaizhi is "the most in-depth monograph ever written on Gu Kaizhi."
