Publication Date: 2005-10-28
Features: To implement the provisions of Article 36 of the "Environmental Noise Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China," which states that "when constructing highways and urban elevated and light rail roads through existing noise-sensitive building clusters, measures such as sound barriers or other effective environmental noise pollution control measures should be implemented if pollution is likely to occur," this standard has been formulated. This standard specifies the acoustic design of sound barriers and the measurement methods for their acoustic performance. Appendices A and B of this standard are normative appendices, while Appendix C is a reference appendix. This standard was proposed and supervised by the Technology and Standards Department of the National Environmental Protection Administration. The drafting units include: the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Institute of Acoustics, Tongji University; the Beijing Research Institute of Occupational Health and Safety; and the Fujian Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center. Reference units include: the Physics Department of Qingdao Ocean University; the Beijing Environmental Monitoring Center; the Shanghai Environmental Science Research Institute; the Tianjin Environmental Monitoring Center; Shanghai Shenhua Acoustic Equipment Co., Ltd.; the Shanghai Environmental Protection Technology Consulting Service Center; the Yixing Southern Sound Absorbing Materials Factory; and the Beijing Municipal Machinery Factory.
