Patient's question:
Hello doctor, many of my friends have experienced ovulation dysfunction issues. I'm worried I might also develop this condition, so I'd like to know what symptoms are associated with ovulation dysfunction.Doctor's answer:
Usually, pregnancy is only possible if intercourse occurs during the ovulation period. The timing of suitable sperm-egg combination is the primary factor for successful pregnancy. In normal individuals, after ejaculation, sperm can survive in the uterine cavity for about 2 to 3 days, but their fertility can only be maintained for 1 to 2 days. Sperm that remain in the vagina and do not enter the uterine cavity will not survive more than 1 day. In principle, only one ovary produces one egg per month, which is quickly released into the fallopian tube to prepare for fertilization. If it does not encounter sperm, it loses its ability to conceive within 12 to 24 hours.
