Features: The Yellow River International Forum is a gathering for scientific workers in the water conservancy field engaged in basin management, research, and management of water conservancy projects. It provides a good opportunity for them to communicate and explore basin management and water science. On October 21, 2003, the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission successfully hosted the first Yellow River International Forum in Zhengzhou, China. The conference was attended by over 350 experts and scholars from 32 countries and regions, with 258 papers submitted, and five volumes of proceedings were published. Leaders, experts, and scholars at the conference engaged in extensive exchanges and discussions around the central themes of "Modernization Management Models and Experiences of Basins in the 21st Century" and "Modern Technology Applications in Basin Management." Many innovative academic viewpoints and advanced experiences were shared, and the central themes for the second Yellow River International Forum were determined, which played a positive role in promoting basin management.
Since the conclusion of the 10th Yellow River International Forum in October 2002, the forum secretariat has been preparing for the second edition. After the notice was issued, approximately 350 papers were submitted by decision-makers, experts, and scholars from 52 countries and regions. A total of 280 papers were presented in 49 parallel sessions and 6 plenary sessions at the conference. The selected papers were compiled into the following five volumes of proceedings based on their content:
Volume 1: Includes 55 papers from Special Topics A and B.
Volume 2: Includes 58 papers from Special Topics B.
Volume 3: Includes 56 papers from Special Topics B and C.
Volume 4: Includes 53 papers from Special Topics C and D.
Volume 5: Includes 58 papers from Special Topics D, E, and F.
Papers presented in 12 related thematic sessions (As-Ls) were also compiled into the above five volumes of proceedings based on their relevant content.
