How to deal with abnormal vaginal discharge

Patient's question:

At first, the leukorrhea appeared as thin watery discharge, later resembling curd-like leukorrhea, accompanied by vulvar itching and a bad odor. Initially, it was not taken seriously, but later the leukorrhea turned yellow and sticky with a bad odor, and it became drier. The pubic hair also fell out frequently. What are these symptoms, and how should they be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Medical Analysis: Your condition is candidiasis of the vulva and vagina. 80%–90% of the pathogens are Candida albicans. It can be transmitted directly through sexual intercourse or indirectly through clothing. The main symptoms include vulvar itching, burning pain, and may also be accompanied by frequent urination, painful urination, and dyspareunia. Some patients may experience increased vaginal discharge. The discharge is white, thick, and creamy or curd-like in appearance.
Guidance: You can visit the hospital for a discharge image examination to assist in diagnosis. Topical clotrimazole suppositories can be used, one suppository per night, inserted deep into the vagina, for a total of 7 days. Oral fluconazole can also be taken, 0.15 mg once daily.
