Features: This book is the final outcome of the research project on the "1954 Constitution" sponsored by the Chinese Society of Law in 2004. In line with the spirit of combining the annual meeting of the Chinese Society of Law with project research, the Constitutional Law Research Association submitted a project proposal on the 1954 Constitution in March 2004. After the project was approved in May 2004, the association formulated a research plan and basic framework in accordance with the project requirements. In September and October 2004, two national academic seminars were held successively, where constitutional scholars discussed important issues such as the historical characteristics, fundamental content, and practice of the 1954 Constitution. Under the unified coordination and organization of the Constitutional Law Research Association, the association's board members published more than 20 academic papers on the 1954 Constitution. The scope of this anthology includes: papers submitted to the two academic seminars on the 1954 Constitution; some published papers on the 1954 Constitution in journals; and some commissioned papers. This book was compiled by Zhang Qingfu and Han Dayuan, with Jiang Dengqin, a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Law of Renmin University of China, assisting as the deputy editor, conducting extensive work in data organization and text proofreading.
