Features: This book is the Chinese translation of the pocket edition of the "Handbook of Injectable Drugs" (13th Edition) organized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), titled "Guidelines for the Use of Injectable Drugs" (published in May 2005 in the USA). It provides scientifically experimentally derived information on injectable drug incompatibilities to ensure patient safety and effective medication. The content of this book is selected from 2,480 research reports on the stability and incompatibilities of injectable drugs, comprising 134 drug topics.
Injection administration, due to its technical and environmental requirements, is generally prepared by nurses or pharmacists and administered in hospitals. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, various drug compatibility charts were hung in injection rooms to guide the compounding and incompatibilities of injectable drugs. However, in recent years, the emergence of a large number of new drugs and dosage forms, along with the mutual compatibility of multiple drugs in a single prescription, has made the treatment situation increasingly complex. How to use injectable drugs scientifically and effectively, and to compound them reasonably, is an important guarantee for patient safety. Clinically, there is an urgent need for new injectable drug incompatibility information. Currently, there are few such reference materials in China, and most existing ones are based on pH value calculations rather than scientific experimental results. Therefore, through collaboration with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), we have translated and published this book, dedicating it to the pharmacists, nurses, and physicians who work diligently in the healthcare system.
