Patient's question:
I had a medication abortion about 7 days after the 20th of last month, and everything was clean. This morning after waking up, I noticed bleeding symptoms and a slight pain in my lower abdomen. Is this my period? Is it normal to come 9 days early? Do I need to get checked? What should I pay attention to? / Urgent!!!! First follow-up question: This morning, in addition to the lower abdominal pain (feeling similar to my usual menstrual cramps), I have no other discomfort symptoms!!!Doctor's answer:
The vaginal bleeding after medication-induced abortion should not exceed more than ten days. If there is still vaginal bleeding, the possibility of incomplete abortion cannot be ruled out. It is recommended to undergo an ultrasound examination. If incomplete abortion is confirmed, it is advised to take Yi Mu Cao Granules or Xin Sheng Hua Granules for several days to see if the remaining tissue can be expelled through vaginal bleeding. If necessary, a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure is recommended.Stay active, keep warm, and avoid eating raw or cold foods.
