How is endometritis treated?

Patient's question:

Patient Gender: Female 23
Doctor, hello! I had lower abdominal heaviness and pain during my school years, lasting for several hours each time. Since lying down made the pain disappear, I never sought medical attention. However, it occurs twice a year. After getting married, I haven't had a child in the past six months, and I started experiencing pain again, which led me to the hospital. The doctor said it was endometritis. But this time, the pain lasted for three days, though it wasn't very severe. I would like to ask how I should be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, the treatment is primarily local, such as cervical electrocautery, laser, cryotherapy, or the use of corrosive agents (such as chromic acid, potassium permanganate), etc.
【Prescription】
1. 2 to 3 days after treatment, there may be a significant amount of bloody or yellowish watery discharge from the vagina, often requiring the use of menstrual pads. This usually stops after about 3 weeks.
2. If there is excessive vaginal discharge, causing discomfort in the external genital area, warm water or a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution can be used to clean the external genital area, twice a day.
3. Wear 100% cotton underwear and change it frequently to maintain cleanliness of the external genital area.
4. Abstain from sexual activity for 1 to 2 months.
5. Do not swim in swimming pools.
