Features: Traditional Chinese patent medicines are an important component of the motherland's medical science. Due to their long history, unique efficacy, convenience of use, and minimal adverse reactions, they enjoy a high reputation not only among the general public in China but also internationally. With the development of China's medical and health services, the demand for traditional Chinese patent medicines has been increasing, and their clinical application scope has also become broader. However, due to the complexity of their prescription compositions, medicinal sources, and the wide variety of species, each medicine has its own characteristics in efficacy and indications, which poses many challenges in learning and application. As a result, the number of various adverse drug reactions caused by irrational use, abuse, and misuse has significantly increased. Therefore, how to correctly select traditional Chinese patent medicines, and how to master the correct dosage, administration, and course of treatment to minimize adverse reactions and safeguard the health of the public, is a crucial mission for today's medical and health workers.
The author compiled this book by collecting a large number of reports on adverse reactions of traditional Chinese medicine from domestic and international medical journals, as well as related research. In addition to listing the prescription composition, functions, main indications, and brief explanations of each patent medicine, the book also emphasizes the precautions, contraindications, and known possible adverse reactions during medication. This is to help medical personnel, pharmacists, and consumers understand the efficacy characteristics of each patent medicine, enabling them to take effect quickly and achieve the goal of treating and saving lives.
However, due to insufficient awareness of the adverse reactions of traditional Chinese medicine, adverse reactions are often overlooked and not reported. Therefore, some traditional Chinese patent medicines in this book may not be listed with adverse reactions, but they should still be used with attention to following the theory of syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine and using them rationally to ensure safe and effective medication.
This book is intended for clinical physicians, pharmacists, and consumers to consult and seek medical advice, as well as to refer to when selecting traditional Chinese patent medicines.
