Features: How Gaokao questions are set and how the exam is conducted every year has always been a topic of widespread concern among candidates, parents, and teachers. In recent years, with the continuous updating of educational theories, Gaokao question setting has been innovating while maintaining fundamental stability. To select new talents with both innovative thinking and practical abilities, the question forms have been evolving while inheriting traditional successful experiences. The focus has shifted from "knowledge-based" to "ability-based" question setting; emphasis is placed on assessing the application of thinking methods and the development of rational thinking; the ability to analyze real-world scenarios and flexibly apply knowledge is consistently tested; and in-depth assessment is conducted on students' learning potential and their independent reading, understanding, and application of new information.
All past Gaokao questions have been meticulously designed by a collective effort involving professors from renowned universities, textbook editors, experienced education researchers, and outstanding secondary school teachers, all organized by the National Education Examination Center. The questions are profound in intent, clear in objectives, novel in context, and flexible in solutions. From the mid-1990s, when the country released one set of exam questions annually, to 2004, when more than ten different types of questions were released nationwide in a single year, the content of Gaokao questions has become richer, and the question types more innovative. This is a collection of high-quality, highly targeted, reflective of Gaokao requirements, and practically significant candidate examples and review exercises.
To provide students and teachers preparing for Gaokao with a convenient and comprehensive "treasure trove" of questions, this series has compiled Gaokao questions from five years across five subjects: Chinese, English, Mathematics, Liberal Arts Comprehensive (including Politics, History, and Geography), and Science Comprehensive (including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The questions in this book are categorized either by knowledge points or by ability requirements, allowing readers to clearly understand the "trajectory" of question setting for key knowledge points in Gaokao, as well as the standards, approaches, and methods of assessment. To give readers a sense of the historical evolution of questions, the series selects annually meaningful questions that still hold relevance and provides answers at the end of the book.
