Features: How Gaokao questions are set and how the exam is conducted every year has always been a topic of widespread concern among candidates, parents, and teachers. In recent years, with the continuous updating of educational theories, Gaokao question setting has been innovating while maintaining fundamental stability. To select new talents with both innovative thinking and practical abilities, the questions have introduced new changes while inheriting traditional successful experiences. The focus has shifted from "knowledge-based" to "ability-based" question setting; emphasis is placed on assessing the application of thinking methods and the development of rational thinking; the ability to analyze real-world scenarios and flexibly apply knowledge is consistently examined; and in-depth assessment is given to students' learning potential and their independent reading, understanding, and application of new information.
Questions from previous Gaokao exams have been meticulously designed by the National Education Examination Center, involving professors from renowned universities, textbook editors, experienced education researchers, and outstanding high school teachers. The questions are profound in their intent, clear in their objectives, novel in their contexts, and flexible in their solutions. From the mid-1990s, when the country produced one set of exam questions annually, to 2004 when more than ten different types of questions were produced nationwide, the content of Gaokao questions has become richer, and the question types more innovative. This collection includes a large number of high-quality, targeted, and practical candidate examples and practice questions that reflect Gaokao requirements and have real-world significance.
To provide students and teachers preparing for Gaokao with a convenient and comprehensive "treasure trove" of questions, this series compiles Gaokao questions from the past five years across five subjects: Chinese, English, Mathematics, Liberal Arts Comprehensive (including Politics, History, and Geography), and Science Comprehensive (including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The questions are categorized by knowledge points or ability requirements, allowing readers to clearly understand the "trajectory" of question setting for key knowledge points in Gaokao, as well as the standards, approaches, and methods of assessment. To give readers a sense of the historical evolution of questions, the series selects annually meaningful questions that still hold relevance and provides answers at the end of the book.
