Features: This book primarily studies the relationship between transaction efficiency and urbanization and industrialization. Starting from the profit-driven motivation of "economic man," the book argues that both urbanization and industrialization are related to economic man's efforts to improve transaction efficiency and reduce transaction costs. The author attempts to establish a general mathematical model of transaction efficiency to scientifically explain and evaluate the complex relationship between transaction efficiency and urbanization and industrialization. The theoretical perspectives in this book are highly innovative, and it also conducts independent research and analysis of the latest international theoretical viewpoints on the subject. It is an original work with significant academic value.
From the perspective of the evolution of economics, the author systematically reviews and summarizes the experiences and lessons from the evolution of urban economics, clarifying the potential future direction of urbanization economics—endogenous urbanization economics that can integrate increasing returns, transaction efficiency, and imperfect competition into a unified framework, providing internally consistent and convincing explanations for the emergence, development, and evolution of urbanization.
Instead of analyzing urbanization primarily from the perspective of increasing returns, as is common in existing literature, the author takes the preconditions for increasing returns—transaction efficiency—as the lens to analyze the entire process of urbanization's emergence and transformation.
