Why is there brown discharge 4-5 days after the menstrual period?

Patient's question:

Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: I have been married for 5 months, and my menstrual cycle is usually around the 29th to 31st of each month. In mid-October, which was my ovulation period, I suddenly experienced blood in my vaginal discharge, followed by brownish. This has continued during this month's ovulation period as well. It usually lasts for about 5 to 6 days and then disappears, accompanied by lower back pain. This situation did not occur before marriage. Could you please explain what might be happening? Will this affect fertility? I look forward to your reply.
Current general condition: 4.5 days after the menstrual period, brownish, with existing lower back pain. It usually lasts for about 5 to 6 days and has been ongoing for three.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, it should be ovulation bleeding.
During the mid-cycle, i.e., the ovulation period, due to a temporary decline in estrogen levels, the endometrium loses hormonal support, leading to partial shedding of the endometrium and causing regular vaginal bleeding, which is known as ovulation bleeding. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is referred to as "intermenstrual bleeding."
Treatment
1. Western medicine treatment: Diethylstilbestrol 0.25–0.5 mg per day, starting 3 days before ovulation and stopping 2–3 days after the bleeding stops.
2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Liuwei Dihuang Wan, Gujing Wan, and Xuefu Zhuyu Wan.
Prevention and Care
1. Pay attention to menstrual health, maintain external genital hygiene, and prevent pelvic infection.
2. Keep a calm mood and avoid excessive stress.
